Churchill Downs hosted another memorable Breeder's Cup Weekend which culminated in the upset of the super filly Goldikova and then the narrow victory by Drosselmeyer and Mike Smith over Game On Dude and his ex-fiancee Chantal Sutherland. Quite an encore to last year's Zenyatta and Blame duel.

     Zenyatta - 2010 HORSE OF THE YEAR!! The "Super Filly" For The Ages!

Zenyatta suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the 2010 Breeder's Cup Classic at Churchill Downs but cemented her legacy as an all time racing legend in the process. This pictorial includes some of her most memorable moments including the 2009 Breeder's Cup Classic win as well as her preparations and narrow defeat to Blame in the 2010 Breeder's Cup Classic. There are also some incredible images from her last ever public appearance in Keeneland's Sales Ring where she was purchased for $60,000 six years ago. She will always be an amazing champion.

Zenyatta & Mike Smith gave us one of racing's greatest moments on Nov. 7, 2009 as she became the only filly to ever win the Breeder's Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park. Her crowning achievement capped off an undefeated 14 and 0 career record and made her a horse for the ages.

     Animal Kingdom Wins The 137th Kentucky Derby At 20 to 1 Odds!

May 7, 2011 saw John Velazquez forget the disappointment of Uncle Mo's late scratch on Friday by winning the Kentucky Derby on the 20 to 1 long shot Animal Kingdom. It was Animal Kingdom's first ever race on a dirt track and he certainly passed the test.

Mine That Bird and Calvin Borel shocked the racing world on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at The Kentucky Derby. Their 50 to 1 total domination coming from last to first capped off a historic weekend for Calvin Borel as he won both the Oaks and Derby in 2 days. Curlin & Street Sense battled one another in the stretch of an alltime classic Preakness Stakes that ended in yet another lost Triple Crown bid. It took the fastest Preakness ever for Curlin and Robby Albarado to beat Street Sense by a nose in a race that is certain to be talked about for years to come.
